Making a Difference

Wow! Sometimes you just don't realize how you affect someones life until they stop and tell you about it! I was stopped this morning by a gentleman that told me that he had not been to church for 18 years and that through me being in the Cardboard Testimonies last year, he was able to start coming back to church again and is now volunteering as well. I cannot take credit for what happened to him though. It was not me that made him change. It was God working through me. I am so glad that God was able to work through me to help change someones life for the better. Oh, what a glorious God! Praise be to Him! Hillside Christian Church is getting ready to do another cardboard testimonies on April 12th. Hope to see you there!

Local Missions

We this last week was amazing! I got a chance to help out with local missions on March 17, which was also my anniversary! Hillside Christian Church was originally going to go to Mexico to build houses, but with the recent killings going on, they decided to stay in town and help out locals. We worked along side CIA (Christmas In Action) and repair four houses. The houses needed anything from a simple paint job to replacing facia boards around the entire house. We also got a chance to serve at Faith City Missions. You never realize how many people are homeless until you serve at Faith City. Faith City is an awesome organization. They have put together an awesome facility and help so many people get back on their feet when they are just down and out. Helping out on my wedding anniversary was so much better than thinking about ourselves. If you have never got a chance to serve others, try it sometime! Faith City says they will take walks in at anytime to help them out. You learn so much about yourself when serving others.

Luke Warm

Good Day. Have you ever been convicted of something you know you did. Not something illegal but rather something that you were not doing? I was convicted of not being on fire for God the other night. This conviction came from within my own heart. I was listening to one of my best friend's sermon's about being luke warm and I felt within my own heart that I need to change something within my own life. I think sometimes we take things for granted and when we do that we find our self slowly falling behind the race. It is awesome that some people are able to figure this out own their own. How awesome is God. We all need to learn to be on fire for God. Some of us do not realise that we do not know how much time we have on earth and that we think that there will be time for God later. Well, wake up people! Not every day is guaranteed to you. Live in the now for God! Walk with God! Don't walk behind Him.

CIY - Wichita, KS

Hello All,
This my first blog. I just got back from a CIY (Christ in Youth) conference in Wichita, KS and had an amazing time. Just knowing that there was a 160 kids and about 50+ leaders there that had a passion for the Lord was an amazing experience. The conference was held at Westlink Christian Church which is an awesome church with a really cool children's area. I was able to met with other leaders and have group discussions about things that we enjoy and things that frustrate us in student ministry as leaders and pastors. I traveled to the CIY conference with Johnathan Mast who is our Family Ministries Team Leader at Hillside Christian Church. I got a chance to learn a lot about student ministry from Johnathan and I hope that when the time comes for me to take a position as a minister that I can implement those things that he taught me just as effective as he does.
